Urban Renewal

The best part of my day is leaving work for a 10-block (optional) walk to my bus stop, camera in hand. This distinctive building in downtown Minneapolis was an insurance company when it was built 45 years ago. The architect, Minoru Yamasaki, also designed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center!
According to the sign, the reflecting pool is being renovated and is due to be completed this spring.

Hennepin Avenue drivers are treated to this colorful sight if traffic is running smoothly enough to allow a glance.

Walkers, on the other hand, get to view things close-up.
