Happy Anniversary Cousins!

Happy Anniversary, L and J!  Although they won't receive this card on time, Cousins L&J are celebrating their 22nd wedding anniversary today!  I made the card from a brochure I received in the mail.  The bright drawings seemed just right for depicting a year of married life: lots of activity amid tranquil scenery.
I added a round metal tag filled with word stickers, layered over a velum banner...
to mimic the dots in the image.

In the evening when I took a walk, I returned to find this little chipmunk on my doorstep.  So I carefully opened up my camera bag (my camera goes with me nearly all the time)....
Slowly stepped as close as I could and zoomed in as far as I could (my little Canon has only a 3X zoom)...
And snapped a few photos before he got wind of me and headed off into the ground cover.

Buttons and Lace

Another entry into the Moxie Fab Doilies and Lace Challenge
Three layers of lace-edge punched (Fiskars) cardstock over a striped paper.  "Sweet" is stamped.

The three rows of buttons are graduated in size and color.  And I added some tiny black beads to one button for balance.

Doilies And Lace

A card submitted into the Moxie Fab World Card Creations Week Doilies and Lace Challenge.
The base of the card is a full-page magazine ad that I cut in half both ways so that the design would appear in each corner.  The center "doily" was shaped with a round Fiskar's punch; I removed a center section to form an oval.  There is another Fiskar's punched lacey band underneath the oval and a length of ribbon through the top.

Two different sizes of butterflies were stamped and cut out.  The larger one is attached with mounting tape.
The sentiment was stamped on another bit of punched cardstock.

You Don't Have To Swim Alone - Gallery Idol Card

Papercrafts Magazine is holding its Gallery Idol contest again this summer.  My entry didn't make it to the top 20, but it's one of MY favorites.  The theme for the first round was encouragement, and I think I got the idea for this one from an incomplete card sitting in my studio that had a punched out fish.
So, I created the scene with cut layers of cardstock waves, punched fish, starfish and "seaweed".  There are some faintly stamped starfish as well.

The sentiment inside and out was created using Wordart on my PC - to mimic the waves.
The fish on the outside has a bead eye and a glossy coating
