Ombre Butterflies

My entry into Moxie Fab World's Card Creations Week Ombre Challenge turned into an anniversary card for cousins Sara and Jory (congrats on 15 years!). In the past week or so, I had the idea to use my new letterpress printing plate (by Lifestyle Crafts) to deboss a tree and then add butterfly punches. It's the first time using the letterpress plate with the Big Shot.  I had to experiment with different layers to get the pressure right, then inked up the plastic plate and ran it through. The butterflies are paint chips punched with a Martha Stewart punch. Paint chip cards are ideal for ombre patterns since they have multiple shades of each color.

The rest was just gluing in place. The background is a Lifestyle Crafts embossing plate, lightly sanded. And the sentiment is PC-printed on vellum.

Jazz, the cat, was in heaven over being allowed in the studio for a few minutes while I worked.
